My Dear Sir Nigel,
As we venture beyond our imagination,
The Earth is where we make our stand.
Many that live on the island of our Castle, would keep small
circles, just like the Knights all over the Earth.
They would have reunions of what was.
Many decades would pass, the body of our alumni remained
invisible.
The time was not right, many were still young razor grasshoppers,
and still finding themselves ha! ha! .
I remember those days, the hippies from the sixties, now in their
late 50's and early 60's, but those days are behind us now, our Club is 100%,
mature & responsible Gentlemen, of the highest degree of trust, honour
& respect for each other.
To be a member of this Club, is a Mark of Faith, this was not
your choice, this decision was made before you were born, if you want to know
more, ask the Dutch Monks, but when the time is right, it will all make sense
mi amigo. .
In the last days, of the greatest institution of education, this
side of the British Empire, hidden just above the hedges of a Dutch Enclave,
Our Castle, high up on the mountains of Tunapuna.
On this island 10 degrees from middle earth, under the sun. The
year was 1985 and the last students walk away from the Castle, they too will
become a mystery, and their story is yet to be told. The doors were closed and
this fountain of knowledge. The Abbey School Mt. St. Benedict. was no longer,
on this once upon a time sweet little island.
The story does not end there.
As the Knights fly like Eagles in the Sky, to every direction on
this planet,
Many would lose contact with each other, in the wilderness of the
flat lands.
A Circular is launched, over 1000 boys are found, by the great
year 2000.
Welcome to the Club, where we make our stand, right here, right
now.
The Dreamer wrote, in the book, The King Of Hearts, in 195X, that
in the year 2014, all Knights will have a Universal Dream, with their eyes wide
open.
They will see something, they need to see.
The dreamer also wrote, that he will also be there. I look
forward to this encounter with the Dreamer, a mystery also to me.
Thank You Nigel, Excellent One.
Yours Faithfully, Glen McKoy.

I always wondered why we don't have more active participating
members from the last 5 years of school's existence, i.e., from the years 1980
to 1985.
Are there that few of them?
I am sure they could tell us stories about what and how happened
as the School ceased to operate, besides the obvious, that it wasn't
economically feasible anymore. But even then, why did the priests let it go
that far?
Other old schools have survived, so why not the Abbey School?
Was it a sudden decision or were the students slowly peetering
out, as less and less of them enrolled, or what ... So many stories could be
told about how it ended.
Seems the majority of our actively participating members are from
the 60's and early 70's decades.

Senor Knight in Chief,
Malcolm Boyack was a Mount Boy.
He was there in my time.
I am a scout, 2nd Mount St Benedict, Squirrels Patrol.
I am also a past President of the Scout Association of Trinidad
and Tobago.
I am also a Queen’s Scout.
I remember Arthur Knaggs, he was a scout par excellence.
I suppose you know the Abbey is also known as our Lady of exile, so
it may be the opposite: we were in exile at the Mount ha!ha!
Some former students say it was a subtle form of imprisonment
!!!! ha! ha! on the hill.
But, as some of us know, there were many forms of escape
Cheers, Amigo
Anthony

Hola, Mi Hermano, (The Knight-Judge).
It’s good to see you balance your life well, enjoy your breaks,
and still maintain a healthy sense of humour ha! ha!
Your judgments must be clear and sound, like a string, you must
also be able to bend and be flexible to the pressure that is applied, to make
beautiful music.
Always good to hear from yuh, mi amigo.
Arthur Knaggs & Eion O'Connor, also said they remember you, I
hope you were a boy scout, the best of us Knights are, ha! ha!.
Is Malcolm Boyack a Mount boy?
Nigel will know.
We are still missing many Knights, since our exile, ha! ha!
Have a good day, my brother, Best regards to the
family,
Adios- meaning later-soon- ha! ha! –
Glen.

Sir Knight, Mi compadre, Glen,
Many thanks for the e-mails you continue to
send.
Here at the Court in Hamburg we have
completed the oral hearings in the case between Panama and Guinea Bissau.
The judgment is being prepared.
It is always good to read of the achievements of former MSB,
Abbey School Students, and sad to hear of the passing of a few, recently Ronnie
Lambkin.
I did not know him while at the Abbey School.
He was just before my time, however I know his cousin, Malcolm
Boyack.
In fact, I have seen and spoken to Malcolm several times while
inT&T.
Malcolm was and maybe still is an excellent all-round athlete.
Cricket, football, tennis, athletics, you name the sport, and
Malcolm was there.
Have to go to a session meeting now.
Keep up the good work.
Adios (for the time being), mi Amigo,
Anthony

Hi Glen, Nigel, Bandit,
This is indeed great stuff,
I have already contacted Bandit and explained that I will indeed
be using this information on my Thesis that I am presently completing,
"Pan in the Diaspora”: An overview
of Steelpan development in Canada's two major cities Montreal and
Toronto".
I am very fortunate to have this important and relevant
information of "This Little Pan" story from our own brother from the
Mount, David de Castro 'Bandit'.
Due recognition and credit will be given to Bandit for this great
contribution to Pan.
Eventually this thesis will probably turn into a 'history book'
so that in turn it can be taught and used in schools as a definite part of the
History of Pan.
I am grateful to be a part of the Mount Boys Alumni and the fact
that Ethnomusicologists would have had to do so much indepth research to come
up with a story as Bandit's.
I have the opportunity to get the information directly from 'the
horse’s mouth'.
This networking that we have is unique and rich because we are
all the contributors of this phenomenon and it all stems from being a part of
what Glen calls 'The Castle in the Sky"
You really had to have been a special person to have attended
that magnificent school, The Abbey School.
For the record let me state that David de Castro, aka 'Bandit',
is most definitely one of my most revered Heroes of the Steelpan ...just proud
to know him and be in this company.
Regards and respect
Salah

Hi, Ronald,
Welcome to the Old Boys Association of the Abbey School, MSB/
(There must be a more exact name for the group, but I forget what it is.)
We've been looking for you for 13 years and now, Joe has run into
you. That's great.
You'll now become party to whatever stuff we generate among
ourselves, and feel free to contribute your own stuff.
I'd be particularly interested in getting a paragraph from you
explaining what you've done with yourself since 1966, and hopefully, a recent
photograph of yourself, for the record.
Here's a link to the latest MSB OB database.
See if you can find yourself there:
Regards,
